My Chappy My Guru..Lesson #2

Chappy was the feedback master. She was very clear about her yeses and nos. If only we humans could have that kind of clarity. If she thought a date was wrong for me she would pee on some item of theirs(had I been willing to take the hint it would've saved me years of barking up the wrong tree so to speak.) If I didn't clean the box as often as she preferred I'd get a little poop present right on the kitchen floor. My partner and I once realized that she would race around the house like a crazy cat if she felt something brewing between us. She knew before we did, that trouble was brewing. I'm proud to say that we did catch on to this one and as soon as we would see her going wacko we would sit down and see what we needed to talk about. She was very clear about who she liked and disliked and she didnt care who knew.
She consistently gave us clear and direct feedback about what she wanted and needed. Sorry Chap, I didn't always listen or get it but you always communicated. For her whole life she was true to her self. How many of us can say that? We could learn a lot from a cat.

My Cat My Guru!!

Sadly this week I put down my cat Chappy who has been teaching me and loving me and living with me for 21 and 1/2 years. I feel inspired to write about the things about myself and the mysteries of the universe that she taught me as a way to honor her life and mine.
Lesson # 1 NEVER GIVE UP.
No matter how busy I was or how unavailable, she always insisted that I give her attention. She would poke at me until I would stop and pet her. Even if I set her down or pushed her away she would come back again and again. This was one of my regrets that I ever said no, but she was ok with that and me because she knew she would get what she needed no matter what. Stay in the game and you will eventually win was her motto. I think she more than proved her ability to persevere by her longevity alone. Way to play full out Chappy. I love you and miss you.

Time Square Here I Come

I was wondering what to do about my radio show while I'm in New York City. I thought I would maybe have someone else host it or prerecord a show but then I had a Flash of Genius. Since Internet radio is through the phone I thought hey, I could do my show live from NYC on my cell phone. Maybe go out on the streets and see if I can find people engaged in genius activities and engage them in a conversation. As I was brainstorming with my partner Annabeth she suggested that the best place for that would be Time Square. I've never been to NYC or Time Square except like many of you watching the ball drop on New Years Eve, but as soon as she said that I got all twitterpated and knew I just had to do it. Its important to follow our flashes...so we can keep our passions alive.

I'm getting ready to go to Hawaii and I'm so happy. I feel like the pace of Hawaii is my organic pace and I need to go there at least once a year to reset and remind my body of my optimal performance pace.
What is your essence pace? The pace you go at when things flow. Where you feel the most present and productive.
Try out walking at faster and slower paces until you find the pace that feels the best.
Play with using this pace throughout the day and see what happens.
